2018 EDITION OF FISPAL FOOD SERVICE BECOMES THE BEST OF THE LAST 10 YEARS

The largest meeting of Food Away From Home in Latin America surprised 470 exhibitors who generated countless businesses.

The event brought together attractions that provided interactivity with the audience. The visitation reached 51 thousand people, exceeding the  expectations of the organization

The 34th edition of the Fispal Food Service, which took place between June 12 and 15 at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, has finished. The fair had several attractions that contributed to the success of the event, which is consolidated year after year as the most important Food Away from Home event in Latin America.

For four days, the event received approximately 52 thousand people from different states and countries who had access to nearly 1500 brands represented by the 473 exhibitors that presented solutions, launches and innovations for restaurants, pizzerias, coffee shops, bars, merchants, hotels, distributors, ice cream industry, ice cream parlors, professional cafeteria and other establishments of the food service market.

"We are already working on the novelties for 2019; that edition will be more special because we are going to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Fispal. We are very happy with the amount of public and the businesses that were generated by our exhibitors. A previous investigation shows that the interest in the renovation is more than 85% for next year ", commemorates Clélia Iwaki, director of Informa Exhibitions.

The exhibitor Alaor Pegoraro highlighted the success of the business carried out during the Fispal Food Service 2018. "The fair was a surprising success. Even with the Brazilian crisis, the visitors attended and managed to do more businesses than we expected, in addition to disseminate the brand, to strengthen relationships and create scale in that area in which we are competing with great market players ", he declares.

One of the main spot of this edition, already confirmed for next year, was the premiere of the Alimentos e Bebidas space, which brought together small and medium companies that provide regional products and ingredients, such as black garlic, gourmet meats, fried onions, individual desserts, cheeses, wines, coffees and craft beers.

For the exhibitor Luiz Carlos Massa, master cheesemaker of the Hacienda Santa Gostosura of Minas Gerais, of the Sierra Canastra, the first participation of the company was very positive. "The participation in the event was a success and exceeded our expectations. We had the opportunity to present and sell our products to the representatives of that important segment. In fact, we will be present in all future editions".

Fispal Food Service is also consolidated as a content platform. The Forum Gestão à Mesa, held in partnership with Abrasel, brought together more than 450 participants for professional updating. The Arena a La Carte conferences mobilized a large part of the participants who had free access to a wide variety of topics, from business management to tips for handling ingredients.

Fispal Sorvetes, which happened simultaneously, had three attractions focused on the segment. The Ice Cream Academy (Academia de Gelatos) presented contents on production methods, recipes, health and decoration for gourmet ice cream. The Ice Cream School (Escola de Gelatos) featured conferences and demonstrations of trends in flavors and formats of the various types of ice cream to bring new opportunities for the industries. The II CLASH - Latin American Ice Cream Congress, an initiative of the Brazilian Association of Industries and the Ice Cream Sector (ABIS) and the Informa Exhibitions, discussed the main challenges and strategies of that market.

The event also featured the premiere of the Gelato Festival, a traditional European competition that selected Bruno Floriano from São Paulo, who presented an ice cream made with fresh ricotta, organic honey, rosemary and pinolis; and Andréa Bellucci, with a taste that highlights cashew and salt flower candy. Both of them will compete for the prize for the best "Artisanal Ice Cream of the World" in the world final in 2021.The last day of the event also revealed the pizza of the Igor Vinicius Candido, from the thematic pizzeria Cara de Mau, from Gramado, Rio Grande do Sul, as the best in Brazil, at the Brazilian Pizzeria Cup. Fispal Food Service received the competition designed by Mr. Pizza, Ronaldo Ayres, with the theme "Brazilian Regional Flavors", which was held in partnership with the CTP - Technological Center for the Development of Pizzas and Masses in Brazil LTDA.

The SVB, Brazilian Vegetarian Society, also marked presence with the option Opção Vegana. The aim of the attraction is helping companies in the food service segment to implement and / or expand dishes without animal products in their menu.

Another success was the Inspira Café, made by Flavors, which featured talks, tastings and round tables in a space aimed at the general public, managers and entrepreneurs of coffee shops and professionals in the field.

SEBRAE's Like a Chef Challenge selected, through a competition in which 19 startups from all over the country participated, three innovative solutions for the food sector outside the home. The winners were Menew - application that allows the complete operation of the restaurant in a single mobile device, Menyoo - digital menu platform and Free Lunch - which offers a free meal in exchange for the real opinion of the consumer.

The event that takes place together with Fispal Café and Fispal Sorvetes, will gather more than 1500 brands in São Paulo, Brazil, in the month of June. The main novelty of the 34th edition is the new Food and Beverage space


Entrepreneurs of the food service chain, cafeteria and ice cream chain will be gathered at the main event of the sector: the Fispal Food Service, Fispal Sorvetes and Fipal Café trade shows complex that has been held for more than 30 years in São
Paulo, Brazil. Between June 12 and 15, about 400 exhibitors will present solutions, new releases and innovations for restaurants, pizzerias, coffee shops, bars, shops, hotels, distributors, ice cream industry, ice cream parlors, professional cafeteria and other establishments of the food service market at the Expo Center Norte.

Made by Informa Exhibitions, a part of the Informa Group, the largest organizer of events, conferences and trainings in the world, those three trade shows take place simultaneously in the same space. In the 34th edition of the meeting, visitors will be able to know the exclusive Food and Drinks space, which will bring together small and medium-sized companies that provide regional products, such as dairy products, gourmet and special coffees, chocolates, among others.

According to Clélia Iwaki, director of Informa Exhibitions, the new area will answer a request from the entrepreneurs who participated in the previous edition of the event. "We carried out a survey with the participants in 2017 and 46% of the interviewees expressed their interest in having the food and ingredients that can enrich their menus, and now they will have many options to strengthen the identity of their establishments and products ", comments.

 

Forum and improvement course

In addition to seeing what the exhibitors will present at the trade show, participants can take advantage of the parallel attractions that will take place in the pavilion. The Fispal Food Service will have one more edition of the Copa Brasileira de Pizzaria, an open competition to all pizzerias in Brazil.

The Gestão à Mesa II Forum, organized in association with Abrasel, the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants, will welcome speakers from important restaurants, chefs and professionals who will discuss important topics for the food service chain.

Fispal Sorvetes will have three special attractions that will be added to the content for visitors. One of them is the II CLASH - Congresso Latino Americano de Sorvetes, an initiative of the Brazilian Association of Ice-Cream Industry (ABIS) and  Informa Exhibitions in which the main challenges and strategies of that segment will be debated. The events Academia de Gelatos and Escola de Gelados complete the program.

 The event will also feature the Gelato Festival, one of the most traditional gelato competitions in Europe, organized by Carpigiani in association with the Italian exhibition group Sigep. This will be the first time that the competition reaches Brazil and the semifinal will take place during the event and will select two ice cream masters who will be able to compete for the "Best Gelato in the World" prize in the world final in 2021.
